End of week 5: Assignments

Please complete the following first two assignments (covering material from week 5) by the start of class on Tuesday. The Primary Source analysis essay (number 3) is due on Friday, Feb. 21, 11:59PM.

  1. Below are two websites, randomly selected from the students in this course. Go to each website and give feedback on the reflection for week 4.
        • If one of the websites shown below is your own, or it is twice the same site, refresh the page, and you should get new sites; if the week 3 reflection is not there, come back to this page and refresh to get a new site.
        • Use the hypothes.is add-on in your browser to give feedback to the post in the group HST267. Remember the Architect’s model of giving feedback! Be kind, be specific, and provide concrete suggestions for improvement.
        • Website 1:
        • Website 2:
  2. Create a Weekly Reflection responding to something we covered or read for the course in week 5:
        • add the blog post to the category HST267
        • Include the words week 5 in the title (you can personalize the title, as long as it includes these words: it helps me organize things on my end!)
        • Remember that the better reflections will respond to a specific text, object, or idea: provide concrete details and examples.
        • Include a reference to the text(s) you focus on, in Chicago notes and bibliography style.
        • Incorporate the feedback you received on earlier work to make this a stronger post than the previous one.
  3. Make sure you have finished your first larger self-reflection (item 3 in last week’s assignments).
  4. Primary Source Analysis 1: find all the details and option on this page
        • Share a google doc with me, or email me the link, by Friday, Feb. 21, 11.59PM
        • Remember you can use the “How to read a text” questions to interrogate your sources.
  5. Check in on the Pad to see if you can help out with any questions, or add your own questions arising from reviewing the course materials.

Then go to Canvas and fill out the quiz with the declaration.
